Every reel game has the same three parts: the reels themselves, a table saying what counts as a result, and a control strip that sets the stake per round. Understand those three and a game you have never seen becomes readable immediately.

These are the general meanings of the terms in reel games, not a description of any one title.

| Reel | A vertical strip that spins and stops showing symbols. How many there are shapes the whole result grid. |
| Payline | A predefined path across the grid. Symbols must line up along it to be counted. |
| Wild | A symbol that stands in for others under that game's rules. What it may replace differs from game to game. |
| Scatter | A symbol counted wherever it lands rather than on a line, and usually what triggers a game's special feature. |
| Volatility | A description of how results are distributed, not a promise about them, and no guide whatever to the next round. |
| Feature round | A stretch of play with different rules from the base game. The information table explains how it is reached. |

How is a slot result decided?
Each round comes from the game's random number generator, and each is independent of the one before it. No sequence or timing makes the next round predictable — anyone claiming a formula is selling something.
What is the difference between a payline and a cluster?
A payline is a fixed path across the reels: symbols must line up along it to count. A cluster counts adjacent symbols regardless of any line. The game's information table says which system it uses.
What should I look at before the first spin?
Three things: the stake range the game accepts, how it counts a result, and which special features you need to understand first. All three are on the game's own information screen.
